Amanda Seyfried gives an extraordinary physical and emotional performance in “The Testament of Ann Lee.” Seyfried stars in the true story of the woman who founded the Shaker religious movement in the mid-1700s. Director Mona Fastvold, who co-wrote the script with Brady Corbet (“The Brutalist”), depicts Lee’s life through the kind of rapturous song and dance that defined this spiritual sect. Co-starring Lewis Pullman, Thomasin McKenzie and Christopher Abbott. “The Testament of Ann Lee” had a brief awards qualifying run at the end of 2025 and is back in theaters now.
