「もったいないバンク」無駄にしない仕組みとは？(2021年4月15日)

急なキャンセルによるワクチンの廃棄が問題となったなか、新たな取り組みです。群馬県の町が始めるその名も「もったいないバンク」、一体どういう仕組みなんでしょうか。
15日、鳥取県では初となる高齢者向けのワクチン接種が始まりました。琴浦町では、高齢者施設の入所者約400人と職員ら約400人に接種が行われます。着々とワクチン接種が進むなか、問題となっているのがワクチンが余って破棄されることです。
15日、河野大臣がテレビ朝日の番組に出演し“ワクチン余り”の対策について言及しました。
“ワクチン接種担当”・河野行政改革担当大臣：「やっぱり日ごろから接種券を持っている高齢者をリスト化して、何かあったら電話して『（ワクチンを）打てますけど来られますか？』というのをやって頂く。あるいは医療従事者の方がその場にいたら、（ワクチンを）打っていない方はその場でどんどん打って頂くとか。自治体で工夫してなるべく貴重なワクチンを無駄にしないようにやって頂ければですね」
「ファイザー製」のワクチンは、いったん接種できる状態にすると6時間以内に注射しなければなりません。そのため、東京・八王子市では接種をキャンセルした2人分のワクチンを破棄するなどの事態が起きました。ちなみに、15日から高齢者向けワクチンが始まった山梨県甲斐市でもキャンセルにより1人分のワクチンが余りましたが、市内の医療従事者に接種して対応しました。
とにかく重要なのは、ワクチンを無駄にしないということで、群馬県の玉村町で始まるのが・・・。「もったいないバンク」とは一体どんなものなのか、町役場の人に聞きました。
玉村町役場新型コロナウイルス対策係・羽鳥直樹さん：「キャンセルで新型コロナウイルスのワクチンが無駄とならないようにコロナワクチン“もったいないバンク”を設置します」
要は、ワクチン接種のキャンセル待ちです。あらかじめ「もったいないバンク」に登録しておくとキャンセルがあった場合、連絡が来て、都合がつけばその日のうちにワクチンを打てるというものです。
玉村町では、高齢者向けの接種はまだ始まっていませんが、それに先立って19日から「もったいないバンク」の受付を始めます。高齢者向けワクチン接種の対象は85歳以上ですが、「もったいないバンク」には65歳以上が登録できます。
大きな会場に大勢を集めての集団接種ではなく、玉村町では病院など複数の医療機関で接種を行う予定です。ワクチン1本で注射5回分で、それぞれの医療機関で余りが出ることも懸念されます。
登録は来週から始まる、コロナワクチン「もったいないバンク」。始まる前から、すでに一日に10数件の問い合わせもあるということです。
