ジャーナリスト、作家。在NY25年を経て18年から東京。ラジオ及びネット番組などでニュース解説の他、政治や文学、ブロードウェイ翻訳も。2021年『愛と差別と友情とLGBTQ＋』で紀伊國屋じんぶん大賞2022で2位。2022年は絵本『ぼくらのサブウェイベイビー』と上演戯曲『アナザー・カントリー』を翻訳。

在日三世、実業家。企業内研修の会社を経営し、世界１０数カ国で人材育成に携わる。
明治大学政治経済学部客員教授、米国カリフォルニア州立サンディエゴ校客員研究員。ドイツ ハインリッヒ・ハイネ大学現代日本研究所客員研究員を経て、ヘイト企業「DHC」との裁判闘争に入る。
2001多文化探検隊にて「自治研大賞」、2003反ヘイトの闘いで「多田瑤子人権賞」、2013「エイボン女性年度賞」受賞。　著書『差別と日本人』（角川ワンテーマ）『怒りの方法』（岩波新書）など著書多数。

　現在：反レイシズム国際ネットワーク「のりこえねっと」共同代表。
