In a message delivered through Al Mayadeen, retired US Army Colonel and former US diplomat Ann Wright expressed her “apologies for the US attack on Iran.”

She said: “Our apologies for the assassination of the supreme leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and his family, and the families of many of the other leaders of the government.”

“Also, for the deaths of thousands of Iranians, for the destruction of the infrastructure of Iran by the United States,” she added, stressing that “These are horrible things that my government has done to the people of Iran, and I offer my deepest apologies.”
